BE BRAVE

I am no longer the girl

Who goes to you when I am teary.

I instead became a girl

Who knows to care for me.

I refuse to be who I was

A year ago at winter up till spring.

I refuse to be her a year ago:

Afraid of what misfortune brings.

I am the girl with kindness

Reigning her heart and believes in good.

But I am the girl with courage,

To believe that she always could.

I am the girl

Who can get scared,

But I’m not the girl

Who’d run away instead.

The girl who cried at night

About her taken memories,

I would rather take flight

Not away but for every day

Misfortunes that may come to me.

I am now the girl

Who stays behind to fight for me.

The Future

How far a journey I have left to take,

To meet you face to face at last!

Many so the decisions I’ve yet to make,

I do pray that fated day comes by fast!

But let that day end slower than sunset,

For I want to admire the hero I’ve hoped became,

I wish to hear the lessons we will never forget,

To hear the pride when you exclaim our name!

For you are thankful for I have conquered it –

The dark of night, horrid voices of the mind,

Whilst I feel encouraged you became it –

A fighter, a hero! So peaceful, so kind.

I, the present, will fight on for you, future,

As you, future, encourage me, the present.

A Falcon’s Flight

A Falcon does not fear, but hears

her friend – the wind: he is blind

but behind every flight

of the fearless falcon.

Her energy and bravery comes from he –

Who challenges a falcon’s strength

and depth of her heart.

Time and again the wind would fight

the falcon’s flight – tearing her right and left.

Once he crept behind her wings, pushing as she cries,

Rise! The wind would yell. For only he

knew the courage and power of a falcon’s wing’s,

An eagle’s vision in a falcon’s eye,

The ferocious roars of a falcon’s voice.

The Falcon knows it’s just child’s play,

At the end of the day, after all,

He would never let her fall.

Midnight Confession – First Memory

The cheering sparks of light in the sky

Hands clean canvases to the crowd below.

I am handed my canvas,

But I find it all ready,

Matted with canvas base.

I wondered why mine was marked,

When I haven’t said a word.

I bring it closer and I see,

A painting of you and me.

Our pasts, our regrets,

The moments we can never forget,

Have all been tattooed and sewn

Deep into the canvas core.

I’ve began my canvas with something in mind,

Which is why

The canvas is painted with us.
