The Future

How far a journey I have left to take,

To meet you face to face at last!

Many so the decisions I’ve yet to make,

I do pray that fated day comes by fast!

But let that day end slower than sunset,

For I want to admire the hero I’ve hoped became,

I wish to hear the lessons we will never forget,

To hear the pride when you exclaim our name!

For you are thankful for I have conquered it –

The dark of night, horrid voices of the mind,

Whilst I feel encouraged you became it –

A fighter, a hero! So peaceful, so kind.

I, the present, will fight on for you, future,

As you, future, encourage me, the present.
